Irina Kaldewey had a great interest in traditional textile crafts, especially weaving. In Berlin, she attended an exhibition of textile works by an artist who had studied in Sweden. This inspired her to study fashion design, where she could learn various techniques. During her art studies, Irina Kaldewey became aware of Frank Leder, a German fashion designer, whose work greatly inspired her. She contacted Frank Leder and successfully secured an internship with him.

Irina Kaldewey then studied abroad in Amsterdam, where she learned a lot about different techniques. The program focused intensively on pattern making and draping clothes on a mannequin, as well as creating digital patterns and 3D models to visualize garments in fabric.
